No, the problem was that the El-Mod ESCs couldn't put out enough current to push such a heavy tank, I contacted El-mod and they said that they were working on the the problem.
The Afterburner addition is the result of their work, with this, the power output on the El-Mod ESCs went from 3amps to 10amps more than enough to drive heavy tank models.
And this bears out my research as I installed a sabretooth 2x10Rc in the Jagdpanther and have no issues at all.
So since the Elephant(H) weighs the same it should work very well indeed, and still retain the quad drive setup(4ea HL gear drives) that I built into it.
