Default RE: Hows this for a project?

Easily is an all encompassing word...according to Dick Hunnicutt, it took an inexperienced crew 4 hrs to remove the outer tracks and after some experience cut it to 2.5 hrs...under ideal conditions. The T-28 had two on board cranes for this BUT, how they lined them up, put them together and hooked them up to the rear for towing and how much time that took, has not been covered. Now, if there has been mine or gunfire damage, double that time on a mobile pillbox carrying only a 105mm that topped out at 7 mph and could not cross any bridges..(same scenario as the Jagttiger.) Could only operate within a given perameter with no place to go. Like the entire T-28-34 project, it was designed for the ground assault on Japan. It had the same engine and transmission as the Pershing but geared way down, couldn't maneuver, so wasn't much other than an eyesore in any aspect. It would make a very interesting conversation piece if someone got an RC model running. Don't think RC battle plans call for an 85 ton super heavy....but then, who's going to knock it out?. Lead it into a place where it can't turn and kill a track.
