Default RE: Avalanche steering not soo good!

Ok I fixed the steering problem. Me being a mechanic I disected the whole steering to understand how it works exactly. Come to find out that if you dont have enough toe in it will lock up on a hard turn or if you land wrong on a jump. I only had one side locking up so I had to figure out why one side locked up and not the other. The side that had some toe in is the one that did not lock up. The other side had no toe at all . Now here is how tofigure out the toe if you are having this problem.

Put the front of the truck up and let the suspension droop. Turn wheels all the way to one side. Now look at the outer steering turnbuckle and see how close it is to the a arm. You should have at least 1/8 of an inch of space between the turnbuckle end and a arm. If steering end hits the a arm you dont have enough toe in. Just turn the turnbuckle out till you have about 1/8 inch of space. Now turn steering to the other side and repeat. Having the toe in will extend the turnbuckle and prevent it from folding in and getting jammed on top of the a arm. You can fool around with the turnbuckle to see what I am talking about. If you put negitive toe and turn the steering you can turn the tire to full lock and it will get jammed on the a arm. At full lock the steering end should not touch the a arm when suspension is at full droop.
