Optic 6 range problem.
Hi
Bought an optic 6 system when in germany, plain vanilla one with 4 standard servos, big receiver and channel 77.
Got home and installed it into the plane, range checked with folded transmitter antenna and all servos were glitching after only a 4-5 meter distance, ofcourse without me touching anything.
So I tested the system outside of the plane, same result. Tried an old hitec dualconversion receiver instead, tried different crystals, different receiver and transmitter batterypacks, even different number and types of servos and nothing changed the result. I am quite sure I narrowed down the problem to the transmitter.
Sent the radio back to germany for repair (I live in sweden) This took some time but finally got it back and instead of repairing it they had sent me a new one.
So I install this new radio into the plane, and do a range check. Well,, better, I can step back about 8-9 meters now before the servos start glitching. But I know that compared to my old basic laser 6 system this is still not a very succesfull rangecheck.
I'd hate to send the radio back to germany again, this takes a very long time and so I'm just wondering it this is a known problem you guys have heard of before? Or is this range problem just normal with the optic 6? If so I there is no point in sending the radio to germany for another replacement.
I have no way of testing range with transmitter antenna fully extended as this would be a groundlevel test and so a rather unfair.
I'm sort of loosing all confidence in hitec radio systems becouse of this.
Cheers
