just picked up a used traxxas emaxx for the 7 yr old to beat on. couple of questions since I am pretty new to these things. me an old plane guy.

Its broke, the main gear 66t is sheared right around the area where the clutch slipper things reside. I just ordered the parts to repair from tower.

From the looks of things it was really hot in there because there was a lot molten plastic pieces.

What usually causes this: not tight enough causing excessive slipping and heat, or to tight and not enough play and something had to give?

does this thing really have a brake? or does it just throw itself into reverse and slip until it starts moving in reverse?

Jr. was slamming it reverse to forward to get it to do a wheelie. then it broke. if this is what caused the break, any way to not let it have a reverse?
