Default RE: DL-50 gas engine

Well some of us do fly a lot. Most at our field come out for an hour or two and get in three to six flights but when I go to the field I don't sit around and talk. I go to the field and get at least four flights an hour and fly for min. four hours at least four days a week and more (7 days, 8hours) if I can find the time. I bought my DL from peak when they first came out. I have crashed the plane and rebuilt/replaced three full airframes. Not every body can fly that much or fly that long but that doesn't mean it is not possible. I have only been flying for three years but can back down and tailtouch repeatedly because I fly a lot. We have pilots at our field five days a week or better so there is always someone to fly with. I don't drink, and go to bed early to be well rested so that I can have the attention span required to fly for long intervals. I mix my gas five gallons at a time and use electric fuel pumps so my pit time is low. I fly in the wind when all other pilots can't or won't. I buy props in bulk and keep plenty of spare parts on hand. I bring adhesives to the field and will do onsite repairs if necessary. I also always have a plane in stock waiting for the next mishap so that I can repair or replace overnight. Being self-employed makes all this possible. Bet more pilots on RCU wish they had that kind of time and dedication of financial resources. I know I am thankful for the ability to be able to do this but I also prioritize and work odd hours in a high risk, high pay occupation. And if I did not have a great Wife it probably would not work out.[:@]
