Default RE: A CHRISTMAS BTE VENTURE BUILD

Well the saga is complete. Today the Venture flew her first five flights. Very forthright and no problems. After the first flight I programmed in a bit of expo on the ailerons. I noticed during construction when installing and aligning the engine that it appeared to be offset just a bit left. She appears to pull just a tiny bit left in flight. I will shim the motor mount to give just a little right thrust from the present angle. For those who haven't built this kit, the fuse sides, top, bottom and bulkheads go together with locking tabs so fuse alignment is pretty well set. I noticed the fuse sides were just a bit off at the tail post, but there is not much that could be done other than sand the two sides even. It appears that the small amount of misalignment may also be present at the front bulkhead. This is a very minor adjustment and should not be taken as a problem. Just a small adjustment. I took the Delta Vortex with me to the field this morning, but a Clint Eastwood saying always comes to mine when I fly the Delta. "Do you feel lucky, Punk?" Well today, I decided to leave the Delta on the ground. These pics are of the two ready to fly this morning in the early Florida sunrise. Oh, the OS 70 Surpass II four-stroke with a Zinger 14X4 wooden prop is plenty of power for the plane.
