RE: G4 Real Flight is great!
A number of the sims have features that provide realism but that are either not turned on/up and not obviously available.
And all of them are sold with models that fly very well, almost always better than the ones we see fly at our club fields. Why? Because it's to their advantage that the purchaser of their sim have a better probability to fly the model successfully. So when they have a Cub for example, that sim Cub is going to be the best trimmed and sorted one you'll ever hope to find down at the landfill running splayed out tires and a knicked prop with rattling pushrods and an engine that's never had the lowspeed needle adjusted. OK..... I'm getting theatrical.........
What we get isn't always what can be. None of the airfields have the wind blowing at all. None of the airplanes have a CG that isn't absolutely perfectly placed. And almost none of the guys who bought their sims take that into consideration when they start to judge how accurately the sim model flies mimics their "Whatchamathingy 60".
As for RealFlight.... and my experience..... At one time, I felt that the model in the sim really wasn't a good simulation of my real one. I wound up changing the CG in the sim and got the sim model to fly like mine. Then it dawned on me. Now, neither flew as good as the one in the sim flew originally. So I moved the CG in my real one. Guess what................. I learned something there.
Do I know if more extensive stuff is possible? Nope.
But I know for a fact that an awful lot of sim buyers are using theirs as far more than toys. Because they are capable of lots more than the first impressions suggest.
