Default RE: gas fuel with glo plug no ignition

The tuning isn't so tough either. Tune it just like a regular gas engine. In doing so, you will notice that the idle mixture will need to be a bit richer than normal for a good transition. Usually, that's it.

On a very few I have done on Gas/Glow, I needed to adjust the regulator to get the carb to flow a bit more fuel. The regulator is under the thin metal plate with a hole in it on the carb. Under this cover is a diaphragm, and under the diaphragm is a metal lever. Raise this lever a very small amount; about .015", and try your carb again. Do this mod only if you can't get the carb to run rich enough as it comes originally.

When you get ready to start your engine on Gas/Glow, turn both carb mixture needles in until they are lightly seated, and then back them out 2 1/2 turns. This will likely be quite rich, but that's ok to begin. Let the engine warm up for at least 2 or 3 minutes before attempting to fine tune the needles. You can rough set them while it's warming up, but make sure the engine is fully warmed up before attempting to fine set the mixtures. These things take a very noticeably longer time to warm up than the little glow engines many are used to, so keep that in mind.

Now this is something I do get tired of repeating; the fuel mix:

The mixure that works, and that we recommend, and that has been successfully in use for well over a year is as follows:

1 part of 10% OIL and 10% NITRO glow fuel to 2 parts of HIGH TEST gasoline.

Good luck, and most importantly, have fun,
