I flew a Eagle II and if I remeber correctly the down/right thrust is built in to the kit. It comes with wood engine mounting system and predesigned with thrust angles. I would not mess with engine thrust unless it has had the factory wood mounts removed and another engine mount installed. It sounds as if you have a balance problem. Balance it at the wing spar and it will be fine. It is a very forgiving aircraft.
