I've never thot about altering the stroke durations, but I have thot about "porting" the pistion and sleeve, in line with a sneurle (sp?) porting chamber. That way the fuel/air mixture would start entering the combustion chamber (opposite side), on the down stroke, even before the exhaust port opened. Just a thot.
Never tried it though
