Default RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom

Hi everyone,

Regarding the flap movement issue, I did replace my control horn with one cutout of .125 CF plate and its rigid as can be. However it didnt fix the problem. When I investigated more, I realized that the movement has nothing to do with the servo arm or servo issue, It is actually the hinge surface at the hinge line. The hinge line is on the servo side, opposite of the aileron which is away from the servo side it can result in hinge line surface to flex. I can easily move my flaps as far as 1 inch up and down (total) with exerting about 4-5 lbs of force.
I have not maiden the jet yet and wanna make sure I dont crash it. IF anybody else has seen this issue on their SM F4, could you please let me know if its common and could it cause a problem. I have attached some photos so you can see the hinge line on the flap. Maybe Anton or Li can comment on this. If there is a way to reinforce the hinge line, can you make some suggestions if its necessary.

BTW, on the throws, I am only getting about 45mm total travel on the elevator. Its not possible to 60mm each direction. plate intereference. (which is about 13 degrees up and down)

Thanks
Jason
