If I dismantle them and reassemble them in paralell doesnt the MAH multiply by the cells face value? Ie. a 4 cell 2000 becomes a 1.2v 8000mah?
Exactly. What the funny thing is, you will get probably the same flying time form these batteries (connected paralell) runing glow as you get from the original CDI (when connected in series). So on the glow iginition your plane has the same weight from batteries, but minus weight of the CDI module (in most systems it is 4-5 oz) and minus half weight of the spark plug (spark plug weights obout 1oz, glow with adapter weights around 1/2 oz).
