Greetings Gentlemen,
Am building a SIG 1/6 Piper Cub .40 size kit. Instructions are very vague! Am at a quandry about engine placement. My engine is a new Tower Hobbies RC ABC .40 . The plan describes an inverted engine. Looks clean. No obvious cylinder or needle valve. I understand that inverted engines give problems with some applications. The plan suggests a side mount if convenience is desired. With the stock muffler a side mount can be made only by putting the muffler on top and on the left. Putting it on bottom and on right would require major fuse modification and weaken structure. What to do !!?? Will my engine give problems inverted and are they that much trouble, assuming the tank is correctly placed? (1/2 in. below level of needle valve) Do people ever mount engines with the muffler on top left - or top anything for that matter? Should I shop for a Pitts style muffler or something? Help!!!
