When Tower/Great Planes/Hobbico and Kyosho split up their cut of the US market went down. Tower had them in every monthly flyer, 3 easy payments etc.

They are sort of like Packard Bell computers back in the day, the deal looks attractive to a first time buyer but most people after they have one wouldn't buy another one.
