Engine Mount Mod for Kaos

The Thinder Tiger 4 stroke (55) will not work with the engine mount given in the kit. The flange on the engine covers the holes in the mount. Can I redrill holes in the mount to match the engine and not destroy the strenght of the engine mount? I think that would be the easiest way to mount the engine. Or should I find another engine mount and redrill the holes in the firewall. Will the additional holes in the firewall hurt? Never have had to do any modifications before so I'm a little nerves. I don't want to destroy the ARF before I finish it
