Default RE: Using a Futaba TX w/ the cp pro

Hi Mike,

My TX is the [link=http://www.futaba-rc.com/radios/futk58.html]Futaba 6EXH[/link] Maybe the 6XH is a bit different? I'm not sure, I wasn't able to find any info on it. If you don't have EPA settings, don't worry about them. And the TRIM values are just that default trim values.

If you only have a 3 point pitch curve it won't be quite as configurable, but you can still get a nice linear curve from 60 to 90... say 60 75 90 for pitch and 0 50 100 for throttle.

As for the crystal, yes you can change the TX crystal but you can't cross the band. If you are low band (channels 11 to 35) you have to stay in low band, and if you are high band (channels 36 to 60) you have to stay in high band. If you really want to go from high to low or vice versa you can send your TX back to Futaba to have it retuned, but that probably isn't worth it to you on an older TX.

If you were to buy crystals, and you wanted Futaba, you would get either FUTL62** FM Short Rx Crystal 72MHz Low (FUTL6211-35) or FUTL63** FM Short Rx Crystal 72MHz High (FUTL6336-60), depending on what band you are on. If you want to get another brand of crystal, the eSky and Eflite crystals are compatible. Hitec are not.

As to the glitching on the EFlite TXs, it's a pretty common problem that the radio is what is causing your glitches. Going to another radio fixes the problem in all the cases I've read.

As for the Gyro question, I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with that particular JR Gyro.
