RE: Engine Mount Mod for Kaos
I checked an old mount from a Kaos and you'll be moving the engine forward so the carb clears the back. This may make the plane nose heavy. What I do on ARFs is to install everything except the rudder and elevator servos. Then I check the CG. If it is nose heavy, I move one or both servos to the rear. Usually, I do the rudder first. I rubber band or tape it in place and check the CG.
Using this method, you hopefully won't have to add weight.
I generally put my rudder servo in front of the fin on top of the fuselage. Then I hook it up pull-pull. Some people don't like it outside, but I do so I can see the hook-up. The elevator servo goes in the side.
I am attaching a photo of my ULtra Stick 40 with the servo in front of the tail and a pull-pull.
