Default RE: GST check up

Dakota,

No the ragged out gasket will affect how your .46 gst will run. What happens is, the exhaust gasses pass thru the header and nipple joint and during the exhaust pulse and function of the tuned pipe a small amount of the intake charge(Fuel and air mixture) is expelled into the header but then it is pushed back into the cylinder. Well, as this happens and if you have a leak at the silicone gasket air is drawn back into the cylinder with the intake charge, thus creating a leaned intake charge and causing exessive heat and in most cases making it impossible to tune the intake charge properly.

To all, if you have a torn silicone exhaust gasket, do yourself a favor and replace it!!

I hope this helps
