DJ,

In the second photo the two servos control air valves for gear and for doors. The sequencer is an electronic device that controls and sequences the two servos and is connected to the gear channel. So with that set-up you use one channel, two servos, and two air valves to control gear and doors.

If you use a UP3 valve it pneumaticly sequences the gear and doors. So you use one channel, one servo and one UP3 air valve to control gear and doors.

Also in that photo it shows a Jet-tronic brake valve. Its advantage is that it connects directly to the receiver. It replaces both the servo and the air valve and gives proportional brake control, rather than on/off.

The way I did my gear & doors, in the section you highlighted, I used the air valves that came with the plane. I required two channels and two servos.

The other option for brakes is a pneumatic proportional brake valve, such as the UP6 or BVM Smoothstop. They require a servo to operate them. I am going with a UP6 valve on mine.

Mike,

At first my door cylinders did what you are experiencing. After exercising the cylinders a few times they started to work fine. I guess the o-rings needed to seat themselves. If yours still leak try injecting some lube into the cylinders.
