Calvin, something else on rubberbands. Ok actually a few things. They do not like ultraviolet light / IE: SUNLIGHT. Keep em in a brown paper bag, with a little bit of baby powder. Or just keep em somewhere out of the sun. Keeps em as fresh as the day you got em.

Also after you're done flying, take off the bands. If you leave them on they will stretch to the point they won't hold. And as you found out they will snap at a most inoppertune time.

On birds like my SS, I have a pair of bands just for hanging her up by the wing on the rack, and two pair for securing the wing for flying.

Now Terry, who has at last count, something like 50 pair of rubberbands on his SS, uses the outer bands to protect the inner bands from sunlight. Not what I would recommend.

Lastly, stop by the local Post Office, they usually will give you handfuls of rubberbands, just for asking.
