I'm sure they can hover if you put a big enough engine in it. The real question is, can they do it easily, and are they good choices to use when learning that kind of thing.

The easiest planes to do that kind of flight seem to be the fun flys.

The two planes you mention may not have enough control surface area to do it easily, and they both are more likely to have a lot of roll coupling with rudder or other "bad" traits that will make that kind of flying harder. Not impossible though.
