Another one of the neat things about this NTK kit that some don't know is how simple it's gear train is, For the nitro TK kit MRC used the original ETK designed tranny gears to build the NTK version... The idler/brake gear is the SAME/IDENTICAL as the the ball diff gear, so these can be interchanged with no issues. The starter gear on the NTK was taken off of half the center counter gear in the tranny, what guys would/could if they broke the starter gear and did not have any spares they would just cut a tranny counter gear in half and use it with no issues, it's the same. The NTK engine starter gear is the same gear as the ETK's big spur gear, just with a bigger center hole so with a simple mod the ETK spur gear can be used as a flywheel starter gear.

Again the only diffrence is the casting material they used for the NTK... DELRIN... which is much stronger than the factory Plastic ETK gears. The NTK tranny gears make for an EXCELLENT upgrade for the ETK as do the NTK tranny case, NTK body mounts and the NTK big axle conversion.

These simple 2wd kits are a whole diffrent kind of wild animal to drive than any 4wd kit...
