I thought since I am so into miniature jet engines that I would build my own using an automotive turbocharger and building a simple combustion chamber. I have simply looked all over on ebay for someone selling a model jet engine with the electronics and acsesories needed to run it, but no luck. So I guess I will have to try and do it this way. Problem is that I have no metal fabrication skills to build the test stand and other stuff, so that hurts my possibilities. So has anyone else ever build any on these kind of turbojets? Can anyone give me some tips and stuff to help me complete it?
If you do not have the metal fabrication skills to make a test stand, do not even think of making a turbine.
You will learn a lot by getting a turbine kit from Wren & assembling it. It is not difficult & can be finished in a few hours. When you complete it, you will have a reliable running turbine.
