jffter. I have several evo25 5000 batteries I use in my Trex600 heli and would like to build an areobatic plane that would take these batteries. I don't care for 3D stuf but was a little concerened with your comment about a slightly hot landing. I am looking at the inspire60 and possibly extra300 free style and would like your opinion on these planes and possibly other choices. I would like a plane that slows down with a flare for loanding. Thank you in advance.

Bob,
I wouldn't be the slightest concerned over that comment, it was more me not being used to the Angel combined with having flown the previous 100 flights on my Inspire 60 with a fat wing that slows down to walking pace. The Angel comes in nice and slow if you like that, you can get it down to a comfortable speed but certainly not as slow as the Inspire 60, the wing is just too slim. Both are excellent flying planes but I give the Inspire an edge in stability, both are excellent in calm conditions but the Angel looks just a tad skittish in a breeze compared to the Inspire 60.
Both planes are perfect candidates for 6S 5000 packs but I'll give you this guidance. If you use the 5000 bricks (each cell is 5000 mAh so you have a fat 6 pack) then you will be happier with the Angel as the pack fits perfectly in the plane as do the longer 6S2P "long" packs that use 2500 mAh cells, so you can use either. The inspire 60 has a lot of room over the wing tube to mount a tray so the battery can slide fore and aft for balance but only a long pack, not a brick. You can use a brick but you'll have to get the balance right and make a pocket for it, my experience says it wants to be over the wing tube so you'll have a harder time with a decent location for a brick-type battery.
My power setup on both is identical, Hacker A50 12L, 17 x 10 APC e-prop, Jeti 75 Spin controller and they both have unlimited vertical, pulling a max of 68.5 Amps and an average of 45 over the entire flight. The Spin controller shows 7,520 RPM's and the performance edge goes to the Angel simply because of the weight savings it has over the inspire. Quality goes to the Angel simply because the Inspire has crap covering that needs to be shrunk out of the box. unfortunately this also warps the HUGE surfaces (cheaper wood it looks like to me) so you'll have to take you time and warp them back. Inspire also suffers from weak laminated gear that will delaminate over time no matter how light you land the plane. It just flies so darned well that you will get over these issues but I'd recommend both, they are all I fly anymore...
