Default RE: Sub Division of the forums

ORIGINAL: crose

[] I am a 57 year old disabled Viet Vet. I have just started building RC tanks. Its one of the few things I can do and receive any pleasure. I have had to ask for help on a couple of occasions, one was a good experience. The other I was made to feel stupid because I was asking for help in the wrong forum. Very good way to loose new members. I rode the back of an M48A3 in Viet Nam on a road sweep on highway one. I was able to spend some time talking to the TC he was the one who interested me in tanks. His tank was named "THOR" and had the war hammer carried by the Thunder God in Marvel comics. The tank took heavy fire during an ambush in operation "Durham Peak". As a Marine Grunt I was damn glad it was there, the tank and crew helped save a lot of us stright legs. Anyone knowing anything about them please let me know, so I can thank them and oh yea! please forgive us nubies who don't know the proper forum to go to. Were just trying to get help and learn to have some fun too.
Hey crose,

Glad you stuck it out and we do get kind of silly around here with some of the directives! I think it is easy at times to get carried away with our online persona's, mayself included I just looked at some of the early hammerings I took as being the new guy to the unit. You know the guy you send to the chow hall to find the squeegie sharpner, or if he is really out of his element you may even be able to get him to ask the gunny where to get the dehydrated water!!!! But we are suppose to be grown up now.... anyway it is a great place to learn and a ton of personalities on here and room for everyone!
