Default RE: axe cp thread

ORIGINAL: dkme

I've been having this problem for a little while now and don't know the cause. When I lift up and try to hover (about 5ft), the axe doesn't hold it's altitude very well. It will move up and down about 3-4 inches every few seconds. Sometimes it will stay steady and then suddenly drop. I fly in an indoor track and there isn't any air current that would seem to be the culprit. I don't know if it's a ground effect or what. I was running it at nearly full throttle on a fresh nimh pack and it was only slightly climbing. Any ideas (or previous post referrals that evaded my search)?
Thanks.
When I had my Axe it did the same thing. Until I replaced the cheapassed z-links with some ball links. That little wiggle that exists at the link translates into swash movement which in turn will translate into an unwanted change in direction. While you are at it, make sure that the ball links in the head do not have any molding flash on them. These will cause the links to stick and make the the heli act odd.

P.S. Sups Pilotlight..... longtime... how are the skies?
