RE: Static Thrust of ZDZ 100cc B2NG Engine
Power to weight ---A 100 is simply maxed out pulling that load - - it will pull out - but how it does that is typically at a vector not a vertical pull - funny you should ask that - I recently watched a video replete with background cheers with the model "pulling out of a hover - (it nosed over a bit before getting into motion - In my book really ho hum performance.
Most 100 cc engines , even at sea level are out of theitr element at 30 pounds - (again my opinion)
Some mfgrs crow about how theirs do this with ease - I simply have not seen it
A good 116 will do it on tuned cans (the MVVS/ EVOLUTION ) These will crank 30x10 Mejzlicprops at 6000 which is a good prop comparison match for 30 lbs .
I get an honest 6600-6700 out of a fully piped 80 on the Mejzlic 27x10 On the 80J- based on my own ZDZ100s - others 100's piped etc.--this and other big 80's PIPED--are is at the top of the max heap for 100cc n under engines. (Sorry about that 100 lovers )-
Still this is not a good setup for 30 + pounds - again MY opinion.
On what some call "stock "mufflers expect far less power.
You will get it.
The light 100 ZDZ really shows off up to around high 20 pound range- on good cans and setup right and is very smooth.
I don't mean to kill someoones sale or poo poo others ideas about their favorite 100- but Ifn it were me - I wouldn't match any 100 with stuf over 30 lbs .
For really spiffy unlimited aerobatics.
