Another bad day
Different than Jim, but lesson learned...... get completely off the runway, even if the intent is to only make a quick mix adjustment.
I was making some mix adjustments on my Integral. I landed, taxied back to the edge of the runway (actually behind the flight line, but not behind our pilot stations). I was at the tail of the plane, and BAM. A small electric that a guy had just landed accelerated without any input from him. It was a new controller, so maybe that's true, but who knows. Maybe if he had called out "landing" this could have been avoided, or if I had gotten farther off the runway I would have been safe. The prop left severall 1" cuts in the TE of the wing, then punched through both sides of the fuse. A few feet farther back and the plane would have been OK but I wouldn't have been quite so lucky.
The positive side of this was the response from the pilot. He immediately offered to cover the cost of replacement parts. Although the Integral is a good price for the kit, replacement parts are quite a shock. Wing and fuse come out to about 80% of the full kit, plus $100 shipping.
