You shouldn't have to. Voltage is voltage no matter what the source.
The ONLY difference in a ESC for Nicad/NiMh and Lipo is the cutout voltage, where the engine will quit letting you know it is time to land so you don't over discharge your battery which can ruin a lipo.
Yup and the included ESC should be a typical autosensing one, so this should not be a big problem...
Of course with LiPo's ideally you should NOT use the auto-cutoff anyway so a flight timer is a better option.
