Sounds like you are in for the long haul. Building one will advance your skills not only in flying but also understanding the workings of the machine. During the build, you can further improve your flying skills with the CX2. Your choice for a bigger heli is excellent, as you will not have to fight with it during your first few "hops". If I have to do it all over again, and if I had the extra cash, I would have bought the biggest heli that I could afford right at the start. It is easier for learning.
