RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan
The DX6i transmitter is very good. Get one for your T-28! I got one with my Blade 400 a couple of weeks ago. I now have a DX7 and the DX6i and I'm very happy with both of them. If you want full range and you don't need 7 channels the DX6i will be great for you. The roller bar is a nice improvement over the DX7. It also uses less juice than the DX7 so it only needs 4 AA batteries. The DX6i doesn't come with rechargeable batteries in the Blade package but if I choose to I can upgrade later on. There is a charging jack on the transmitter (but no charger).
The Blade 400 is awsome for me. I was debating a T-Rex or the Blade. The T-Rex is a better machine but I don't have time to build one, I just want to fly. Plus the T-Rex priced out to about $900 (using my DX7 radio). I'm very happy but I'm a beginner Heli pilot so I have nothing to compare it to. The experienced pilots seem to be real critical of the Blade but I took it out of the box, charged the battery, did the preflight checks listed in the manual and hovered it for 6 minutes the first flight in a gym. I'm a very happy Blade 400 owner. I have lots of Heli hours on Realflight but this is my first real heli. The simulator experience really benefited my first live heli flight. I can't wait for the rain to go away so I can try it outdoors. I may spend some money on parts but for the price difference I now have a $450 parts budget.
Now I have something to complement my T-28 when I want to fly at home or at the gym at work.
