I use a psudo Chromlusion paint that I got at the craft store. I Believe the brand is Createx, and it is in their Auto Air line. $6 for 4 OZ. Not exactly ( OK not even close) to the $400 a quart stuff, but gives an interesting effect that gets noticed at the field.
I have the Blue, and it is mostly light gold, but when you look at it at different angles it shimmers a nice royal blue.

I have it on a Corona canopy ( electric Heli) and I had a minor spill. The canopy was cruched up pretty good, but I simply pushed it back into shape, and the paint didn't chip or peel at all.
