That's bad, it's not compression it's too much fuel in the cylinder. you said you have to take the glow plug out to get the extra fuel out of the head, that's a bad thing. YOu may have to lean out the carb to cut down on the amount of fuel going into the engine, you might be pulling in more fuel from modding the ports and opening them up more.
