I've got a lady friend I met last year. She came out to the field and watched me fly one day. Within about three months, she'd invested probably $3K in planes and radio. She never did solo last year, but I had her up quite a bit on a buddy box. As soon as the weather turns nice again, we'll get back out and she'll do her solo sometime this summer!! (She's actually on this site sometimes, so perhaps she'll chime in.)

As for little girls falling down and being pampered. When my daughter was just learning to walk, we'd go out on the bike paths. She'd take off, trip and fall. I taught her to get up, brush it off, and keep on going. Now, four years later, nothing stops her!! I was hoping to get her started into RC, but she seems to have lost interest. I think she was only expressing an interest because I wanted her to be interested. We'll see when she gets a little bit older if I can get her really going.
