Holy ancient thread, Batman!! (sorry, couldn't resist). I've been flying Hitec gear almost exclusively since about 2003, and I don't even remember the 535 receiver. What's more, it's not even listed on their page anymore. If it's similar in specs to the 555, it should be fine for what you are proposing, but I'd have to see the specs before passing judgment.
