I would probably just get either a standard FM receiver from futaba, or maybe even a Hitec Supreme or something. I had good luck with them before. The synth. rx I have in my heli on 4.8v and I don't think it'll ever come out of the heli, lol.
So +1 for the CCBEC. Would you run a switch between it and the battery or just make sure to unplug it all the time? I'm sure I'd unplug it when done for the day, but I have a tendency to fly and then hang out for 20 minutes, then fly again. And I don't want it powered up the whole time.
If I do the lipo, it'd be nice to have it easily removable as well so that I can balance it easily. I guess I could just run a 6v 1500 pack, but I really like LiPo batteries.
