Well I think I need to go to take a class in landing 101 Friday it was 40 outside and a friend of mine asked me if he could come over an I maiden his astro hog with a super tigre 61 an ski's on her.
we have about 6 to 8 inches on the ground so I said sure the plane was fairly nose heavy but decided to fly her anyways she took off really well an after triming her out i gave him the sticks after her flew her for 4 or 5 mins he gave me back the sticks an I went to set her up. well I have a short runway only about 150 or so so when she got to the begining of the runway I noticed she was still aliitle high I went to throttle up an go around and the engine died so i was commited to the landing well a 1/3 of the way down the runway I knew for sure I was going to overshoot the runway so I let off the elev and boy did that nose drop. Right into the snow tore the landing gear an ski's off. I should of eased off the elev but I didn't. should of, could of, would of, I know you all have heard thoses. but the good thing is it got some of us excited about flying off the snow as we don't mind the snow when it's above 40 an sunny out.
