Default RE: Nitro Models Formost 150 are in the USA

Wow I just got home to see this.
I didn’t say it was a build thread I was just pointing out that there was another thread for opinions, as a matter of fact you posted the same thing on SpiderJets opinion thread and I didn’t see the need for double posting.

Not trying to get personal and I am truly sorry if I struck a nerve.

All of us reading this form are aware of the short comings and we can take measures to rectify, so why continue to preach to the choir because those who could use your insightfulness are not reading this form.

You have raised the point that this is a questionable model in your opinion.

What is the ultimate solution to protect all of humanity? (Rhetorical question only)

I assume that you have personally inspected this model to be so firm in your resolve.

Maybe the solution is to setup a review panel of expert aeronautical engineers to judge the safety of all imported models.

Maybe the model industry could adopt a voluntary system like the EU’s CE mark scheme, the manufacture would be required to sign a declaration of conformity stating that the design meets all of the requirements and if it is found not to comply then legal consequences would ensue.

Maybe a set of standards could be developed for all manufacture to follow, and then the Agency for Model Safety (something like UL) could review the design and approve it.

Maybe I just invented a new business model (AFMS)…. any investors out there?

In case you haven’t guessed… I am a product conformance engineer when not playing with models.

SpiderJets and ThudDriver response said it eloquently so I guess there is nothing else to add except I think this horse has been beaten to death, oh no I guess I should re-phrase that…. sorry I couldn’t resist.[X(]
RELAX already, it's a freakin' hobby !! :-)
