Hi Hellfire people,
I just bought a used HF and the track people are saying my HF will not be able to handle the toughness of the track and asked me to sell it. I guess I made a wrong purchase? Is the HF really that bad? Are they still a competitive truggy? I see HPI dropped the SS kit. Man i guess no one is buying it!!
Thanks
Where are you racing..Delta?
The Hellfire is not that bad..I raced mine for a while and NEVER DNF'ed a race..ever..I even won a few times with it..But you do need to do a few things to make it last. The SS did address most problem areas, I switched to HB's ring and pinion gears, for the most part I did resist going for "HUGE AIR" but other than that you should not have to many problems. The biggest problem that the Hellfire has is it's to stiff, Your suspension has to be right on the money, If you land wrong..biff a jump the energy has to go somewhere..most truggys their chassis has some flex designed into them..the Hellfire does not have very much flex in the chassis and this is why the rear suspension mounts and shock towers bend..it's all about the transfer of energy..Once you understand this and how to deal with it the Hellfire is raceable
