Default RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Hey there, sportsfans. . . .I haven't chimed in for a while, but have been happily flying the wings of both my TwT's, and when I saw the spinner post, I had to also make a $.02 contribution to the fund. . . .

On my Saito 72, I'd ordered a custom TruTurn spinner to fit the prop choice (14x4), since local HS didnt have anything in stock that would fit. I also had to purchase a larger adapter cup for the starter to fit properly. . . . a lot of added expense that was really asteticaly pleasing, but added no improved performance.
The second weekend I took the plane out to fly, it seems the the higher compression of a realitively new engine took it's toll on the spinner.
Quite by accident, I bent the spinner. Another flyer had in his box a OEM type spinner nut. It was installed and I returned to the smaller starter cup. to my surprise, the engine was much easier to start as the fit was more secure between the peices. thats the way I'm going to leave it at this point. . .
so there's my experience with it. Your local HS will mostlikely have one as well, and with the realitively cheap price, you just might want to give it a try. . . .
