Default RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I need some help......my club is 10 miles away....not a big deal. But because of having two small children, I can't always make it out there. I have 2 large open fields across from my house, on the other side of the fields is a major 4 lane highway. I could fly my T***T and other nitro planes in these fields, but I refuse to because of insurance, the highway and the unexpected. However I think an electric 3-d profile would be fine for these fields. The profile would be flown in closer to me .....I would be 1/8 mile from highway (speed limit is 35 in this area), but not an AMA field so the insurance thing comes up....

Any thoughts on

1. Flying this close to highway traffic?
2. Flying without AMA behind me (insurance)?.....and yes I have homeowners insurance
3. A good choice for an electric 3-d profile? Yes I love my T***T, but there are times that I can't get to the field to fly it. Stepping out the front door to fly would be a great option.
Man, pretty much anything from E-Flite is good to go. I haven't had much experience with flat foamies but I'm around them all the time. I had an electrifly FlatOuts - Redbull edge 540. I built it straight out of the box and had no problems. Of course, I got their recommended brushless upgrade, and the thing hovered at half throttle and would climb vertical at still less than 3/4. It was hilarious.
I'd like to get another flat foamie because it was so much fun to fly, but I now have to drive in order to fly electrics, so I might as well make 2 trips to the truck instead of 1 and bust out the ultra stick or Super Star and go for it.

Edit: There's a guy really close to where I live... he comes in for CA glue and minor stuff sometimes... Name is Mike, and he uses a CNC machine to cut out flat foam planes. The company is called Fancy Foam and I've heard a lot of good things. I wish my boss would let us carry the stuff but Horizon pushes so much new E-Flite stuff on us that we don't have room for anything else. Granted, the E-Flites are awesome planes but it's nice to have something different for once...
