RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation
The thing actually runs really well... it just doesn't have much compression. You can hear/feel it blowing by like crazy when you turn it over by hand. Also, it really doesn't have much trouble getting fuel any more. One day when I went to fly it, it wouldn't start... this was after I had the klunk line fall off inside my tank. For some reason, after that happened, I had to *richen* the mixture screw (not low speed needle on this engine) probably 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn and it was back in business. The high speed needle didn't require adjusting, just the mixture screw.
I guess it's possible that I turned it while trying to figure out what happened to the thing when I didn't know for sure that it was the klunk line, but I don't think I messed with it.
Now that I'm actually talking about it and thinking about it again, I haven't really checked the valves in a while. I've never had a valve tighten up and cause a valve to stay open though. They usually just loosen up like they did on my 1.80 Saito.
If I get bored tonight I might check the valves though and let you know.
Edit: What do you mean by play in the crankshaft? Rotational, lateral, longitudinal?
