Default RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Leak down Refers to how much it leakes past the valves when there closed the seats are what the valve faces mate with to seal the combustion chamber on the compression stroke.

Well maidened my TVV!$T today with the O.S. 61 FX and macs tuned pipe flew for almost 20 minutes on one tank of fuel i flew it till it ran out of fuel see how long it would fly on a full tank. probably would have flown longer if i wouldn't have been doing Straifing runs with it and high speed fly by's. Wind was blowing from the South east at 15 to 20 mph So dead sticking is not a problem it just floats to the ground. CG is a 4 3/4 inches but has to be moved back kep't nose diving had to trim up elevator quite a bit to get a level flight at half throttle.

Plane Screams with this engine and is loud as H**. Plane must do at least 80 mph in level flight. Unlimited verticle at 1/4 throttle. Full throttle is just insane it sounds like a bomb falling out of a bomber gives that high pitch whining sound.

Scared the People at the gun range lol. Thought they were under attack. Whole gun club was there. One guy came over Ask me if i was intresed in Some rc equipment engines ect. And to not bomb them.[sm=regular_smile.gif]
Would have taken him up on his offer, if he was giving the stuff away. But he's selling it for some pretty high prices and I have a Ton of RC equipment myself that i need to sell i'm running out of room.

But the new flight field is awesome nice and open and flat. with the bigger engine the rolls are a little slower and rudder and up elevator puts the plane into a scary dive instead of the Flat spin i was trying for. So Going to have to operate and build that hatch behind the cockpit and move that battery to get that CG back some. Last landing was a bit hard and i heard a crack and was thinking OH NO[:@]. So i will have to do an inspection on it. Make sure it isnt damged to badly was a small crack sound and theres no visable. Still always better to be safe then sorry. It bounced a couple times on the Landing. The dubro plastic landing gear is a good investment for this plane on a rough landing it flexes and absorbs alot of shock.

All in all it was a great day for flying and i'm very pleased with the new engine. I'm sure i have the fastest TVV!$T in the Region. Now just have to maiden the 150 thats going to be intresting it weighs 12 Lbs. And has metal landing gear No hard landings with it. Going to have to be a little more carefull then I am with the littel one. I'm sure it will bend the gear or break something.

So Spring is coming and you'll all be out flying Again before to long
