Default gas/glow mix calculator

For those who do not have a local hobby shop or a hobby shop that refuses to order the 10/10 glow fuel, I’ve come up with a simple spreadsheet that calculates how much straight methanol and high nitro car or boat fuel to add to your available glow fuel to arrive at the desired mix. This is the way I mix my fuel because my local hobby shop refuses to order 10/10 glow fuel.

The default, when you open the spreadsheet, starts with 10 units of 15% nitro Omega fuel, which contains 17% oil. Then, 7 units of straight methanol is added. Finally, 1 unit of 30/10 car fuel is added to arrive at the desired 10/10 final glow fuel mix. The amount of high test gasoline to add is then calculated.

One could really start tweaking the mixture by adding small amounts of 60% nitro boat fuel to get the appropriate final mix, if you knew the oil percentage of this high nitro fuel. I think it’s usually about 12-14% oil, but I’m not sure. In fact, one quart of this stuff would go a long way in mixing up 10/10 fuel. I tried uploading the Excel file, but it appears that this file type is not supported. If anyone wishes to see this spreadsheet, please respond and maybe we can figure out how to share it.
