Well retuned engine and it was running on the rich side but I haven’t gotten to go out a fly again. Another winter storm moved in and the wind speed are in the 15 mph range up to 50 mph gust But hopefully will be moving out tomorrow.
I'm sure it will perform better it was running 600 rpm below peak rpm of 9200. Must be why it would just slumber along at full throttle. Retuned now getting 9000 rpm full throttle. So I’m sure it will perform better this next flight.

Considering you are interested in this plane. I don’t know how much experience you have with RC airplanes. And even though the SPE BCMA 26CC engine is A Cheap engine Compared to others. if you don’t have allot of experience in modifying planes. I would recommend going with the manufactures recommended Engines for the plane. will save you in the long run alot of frustration not an easy engine to mount IMO.
Some other equipment was necessary to mount this engine and would be considered a custom installation. A flex Cable for the throttle has to be used or some other customized throttle connection and 2 inch standoffs had to be purchased separate from the ones that come with the engine from the Seller. For the purpose of getting the engine out far enough past the cheeks.
As a first gas plane I’m not sure if it would be the best to Recommend. Really depends on your experience with RC planes . This is my second gas plane and my 4th RC airplane. I thought really long and hard before I Bought this engine To mount on this plane and mainly purchased it because of the price.
Manual for this plane May help a little too.

According to your profile you have
4 years building
- 4 years operating
- Intermediate pilot
So seems you have enough experience to take on the task. Just be prepared to do more then would be neccessary to mount a Recomended Engine if your going to keep the cheeks on it and the cheeks have to be re enforced with epoxy.
