Default RE: installing a kill switch

ORIGINAL: BillS

Isn't a kill switch as simple as turning off the power to an electronic ignition or grounding a magneto ignition?

Electronic - No power no spark

Magneto - Ground equals no spark.

That's right. I used a GP kill switch harness for my ignition cutoff on an MVVS 35cc EI. I had to move the switched output wire on the micro switch from the normally open contact to the normally closed contact to make it work the way I wanted it. The two switches are in series, so both have to be closed to get power from the battery to the EI. Oh, and I used a micro servo driving a piece of Golden Rod to actuate the micro switch via the retract channel on my Xmitter.
