Default RE: Fun with Flat Foam

Duplex Delta had its maiden today. All went well. It was a stable flyer. The weather was perfect. Clear blue skies and light winds across a BIG open field which it had all to itself. It climbed out smartly upon lauching. The Duplex looks strange, in a good way, in the air. Its unique shape at times makes keeping orientaion a challenge. Comming square on or away, its thin profile (edges of white 6mm Depron and tapered fuse are all that are presented) cleans up quickly resulting in a almost invisable plane. Pior to going out to fly, one last marking was added at the acft's nose. It helped a lot. The acft is not a speed deamon. There is a good bit of wing hanging out to drag/slow things down. Winds today were a max of 5mph and that was perfect for the Duplex. It would do well in a large indoor venue. Flying it kept reminding me of a mianature ultra light and its being a
cartoon come to life. Someone who was very artistic could follow through on the cartoon theme to make the Duplex look very interesting. It seems at 1st try the cg was dialed. Flew with both 1300mAh and 1000mAh lipo's. Five minutes flying on the 1300mAh's took out 498mAh.
