New Engine Break In Help Please
Hello, I have a sportwerks .26 v2 engine in a turmoil I need to break in. I have a couple questions. Is the reason some people say to drive the car immediately instead of letting it idle on the workbench basically so they engine can get up to 200 degrees easier? Is it possible to get the engine up to 200 degrees just from idling on the bench? I don't have an infrared thermometer but had an idea about using a meat thermometer. Would this work just as good if I put it in the center of the cooling head down by the glow plug? I was thinking maybe zip tie it to the cooling head with the tip in the center of the head and drive around with it on there if I can't get it to 200 degrees. . Any ideas? Can I just idle it on the bench as long as it gets to 200 degrees? Thanks..Lumpy
