I recommend driving it and not letting it sit and idle. If you have problems getting it up to temperature wrap the head with aluminum foil. Many claim that letting it idle at break in settings puts to much stress on the rod. I all so recommend preheating the engine with a heat gun. I all ways heat cycle my engines and have several engines with 9 plus gallons on them still running fine.
